I recently got a contender 444 marlin in a trade and I am thinking about putting an open rear and front sight on it as apposed to a scope.......(the 444 is not a caliber that I really wanted, but it came with the contender frame which I did want)
So anyway........I'm thinking about a Williams 5D or FP type, but I don't really know anything about them. I do want the "peep sight" type not the notched type, I think.....
Does anyone use them? How do they work for ya? Do you have to drill and tap the receiver? Does anyone have any used ones for sale? Would another type be better? Lyman? Something else?
