Is 7.62x39 just an inaccurate round? NOT HARDLEY

Is 7.62x39 just an inaccurate round? LOL That got the CZ carbine aficionados attention!

As you can see from the pics I'm quite proud of the showing my little CZ 527 made of it's self at the range today. Not too shabby for a carbine shooting through a sporter weight barrel. Especially at 200 meters!

I picked one up a couple of years ago.  Can't believe how good it shoots for a little carbine shooting the Wolf and Bear bullets.  Federals are my hunting round.  It shoots everything I put into it very well, including reduced Hornady and Speer 100 gr. half-jacket and various cast bullets.

There is nothing 'inaccurate' about that cartridge, in a quality rifle.  Most of the 7.62x39mm shooters blast it out with mil-surps that are not the most accurate rifles in the world.  I have a NHM-91 (Norinco Hunting Model, 1991), a AK action with the longer SKS type barrel and a muzzle brake and this thing will group 2" at 100m if I do my job.  I have also handloaded some heavy, slow loads and love to watch them cluster.  Nothing wrong with the cartridge.  JMTCW.  Mikey.

Have you measured the Max OAL with them 123 V-Max in the 527 ? If so what did you come up with, and what OAL are you using ? ~Ace~

I bought a SKS (Yugo) a while back.  Found the accuracy with surplus fair so I decided to handload some.  It made a big difference.  I was so happy I bought a receiver peep sight for it.  Drilled and tapped the receiver and it now shoots 3"+or-   at 200yds.  Not bad for a crappy surplus rifle.

Mine was a small ring Mauser with and after market barrel and sporterized stock, very accurate with Winchester factory 123gr SP's, and I had some reloads with RL7 that were rather awesome.
