You know, this will probably sound kind of "conspiritorial" ( which I am not ), but....my understanding is that Calif. has a law pending on max amount of ft./lbs of energy a rifle will be able to have ( to curtail the .50bmg "end-runs" available ). We all are aware of the miss-use of the words " Sat. night special", "assault rifle", "street-sweeper", etc. I unfortunatly would not be surprised, expecailly with a Dem. President, and a Dem. Congress, to see a "sniper rifle" term start to get cranked up, with the end result to limit FPS or Ft/Lbs on a National level, saying stuff like " do hunters really need a gun that shoots a bullet xxxxfps, or xxxxmph?" ( probably the later, since most dopes cannot equate to fps, but mph is something they can understand).
To me it is all just an underhanded way to invoke gun control, using knee-jerk reaction by the unknowledgable. It is underhanded, dishonest, and.... typical!!
