Para-Ordnance P-14 Limited Magazine release problem!

Need a little help here.
P-14 loaded with a high capacity magazine and 13-14 rounds....

When I place the pistol and a firm surface, left side down first, the magazine releases. (Left side original magazine release button)..

Now I'm not talking about slamming her down!

Release button must be defective or super sensitive. What to do??

Most of the newer Para Ordnance mag catches are made of plastic, which Para Ord calls "polymer".  My experience has been that eventually the magazine will shear the plastic retainer off and no magazine will stay in.  Prior to shearing the magazine started popping out with way too little oomph on the button.  Sounds similar to your problem.

If you are the original purchaser and you call and whine then Para Ordnance will usually send you a new plastic mag catch that will last another month or so.

The solution is to buy a steel mag catch from Brownell's.  They carry steel mag catches specifically for Para Ordnance pistols either blued or SS for under $20 (duh, wonder why?).  That solved the mag problem but I eventually sold the gun due to chronic feed issues.

Oh No dont say its so, I just loaned a fellow $250.00 today on a Para Ordanance P14 Limited today, If he leaves it will I be stuck with a POS?  Just Kidding they are a nice weapon as another friend has one, but I dont recall him ever having any problems with it, and the fellow today is a regular into the shop and I dont recall him saying anything about any issues.   JIM
