G2 Trigger Question ?
« on: November 01, 2007, 06:27:42 AM »
I just picked up my G2 after a two month wait from the Fox Ridge Cuistom Shop. It is a nice looking gun - 9" hi-gloss brl with sights in .45ACP and a color case finished frame and trigger guard. The trigger has no noticable creep but for me is Too Heavy for the intended use of target shooting. I would guess about 5lbs.  Is there any easy way to reduce this pull by about 1/2 without having to send the thing off somewhere to a smith?

I have an old style Contender and after replacing a little trigger spring and adjusting the two little allen screws was able to achieve a pull of 1.5 - 2lbs easily. The G2 trigger mechanism is totaly different from the old model. After the long wait I would rather not have to send the gun out for trigger work is possible.

Yes, it can be done w/o having to be sent out, but it somewhat more complicated than the old style Contender. A lighter spring can be installed as well as stoning, to lighten the trigger pull, but never as good as the old style in my opinion. Do a search on the web and you will run across plenty of info on G2/Encore trigger jobs as well a parts and tools; then you can decide if it is something you think you can do yourself or will need to send out.
