Springfield Mil-Spec sight replacement?

I need suggestions on a sight replacement for my Springfield Armory Mil-Spec 1911.  The gun itself groups well but shoots very low especially with 230 grain ball.  I would like to get an adjustable rear sight that fits the existing dovetail.  I looked at Bo-Mar for example but don't want it to hang over the rear of the slide.  I would prefer low adjustable rear sight with three dot sight picture since the existing front sight has the dot,  Any suggestions that's not a hassle to put on?

There are adjustable sights that fit the existing dovetail of the Mil Spec available from Brownells. You're better off buying your sights as a set to insure both sights are the proper height. If your front sight is tall enough, you could file it down enough to bring your POI up to POA. The Bo Mars require a machining operation on the slide for installation, that might be a bit expensive for your Mil Spec.  If it is shooting extremely low, you might have a gunsmith look at it. Could be a barrel fit/ link  problem. Good luck!

Norseman:  Savage indicated one potential problem that could be effectively resolved with another barrel link.  The links are pretty inexpensive and if you get a couple of different lengths it will take very little effort to determine if that helps resolve your problems.

Also, there is a rear sight you might like from MMC (Miniature Machine Company).  This rear sight is designed to work with the existing or factory front sight, and is adjustable.  It fits right into the factory dovetail.  I believe they may have a couple of different styles to choose from.  I have had them before and they are pretty good sights - still have one on a 38 Super slide.  They also have a low profile Nowak type sight but their adjustable model is pretty much a low profile sight to begin with.  HTH and good luck.  Mikey..
