I was not sure where to put this so here it is i am wanting to know if any of you have shot or own any of the EAA pistols and i mean any of them. I want an opinion i was looking at one the other day in a shop like the look it was a witness compact 45 but i want to know what you guys think of EAA gunsare they ok or junk.

When I workd in the gun shop we coundent keep them in stock. The owner and myself both carried the full size witness. He had the dura-finnish or what ever they called it and I had the blue. I put over 10k thru mine without a hitch, and the guy I sold it to has put a bunch thru with out a prob. Dont know about the compacts and most of what we sold were the full size.

My Witness .45 fullsize in the Wonder finish is great, no problems at all, shoots nicely. I will probably buy another one eventually in 9mm too.

I just happen to see the compact one and was thinking it would be a good ccw pistol. thanks for the info i am considering my options for next gun and this one looked good.

I have the full size wonder finish in 10mm/w.40bbl/.45/9mm. Great ergos on this pistol, flawless performance (Other than a few startup problems with the 10mm) and extremely accurate, especially in the 9mm and .45. For my money they are a hell of a buy! Plenty of inexpensive magazines and caliber conversions available from Reed's. No experience with the compacts, but can't think of a good reason not to buy one.

I also have the ful size witness with 10mm and 45 acp uppers soon to add 38 super. Absolutely love mine. I kind of feel guilty that I have replaced a 1911 with a witness. One easy way to get past that though. A guy can never have enough 45's.

I've had one EAA Witness .40, and it was the worst pile of crap I have ever owned. It shot 6 inches high/right at 7.5 yards. Of course that means you weren't close to the paper at 25 yards. Plus, once or sometimes even twice per magazine load (10 rounds) the magazine would release all on its own. My dealer took it back as a trade, but I lost big bucks.

My advise, don't buy a clone. Go ahead and get a real CZ-75 instead of an Italian copy.

I had one of the compact 9mms in the "Bastard" configuration which one could carry hammer down, safety on or off, or could carry cocked and locked. I liked it a lot, good ergonomics and good accuracy. It was totally reliable with any reasonable handload and would group most under 3" at 25 yards. My only complaint was with the weight of the all steel version, I'd gladly buy another in a light alloy frame.

I'll take steel anytime! I've never had any problems with the aluminum framed guns I've had, but I like the feel of steel better. Same goes for Polymer, I'll pass and take steel over it, in almost every case. One of these days though..

I bought the first one I ever saw in 40SW, that was in 1991.  Since then I've put WELL over 30,000 rounds thru it, and it doesn't jam, ever.  I've loaded bullets from 135 grains to 200, shot a zillion bowling pins with it, and it handles hot loads just fine.  I've tried to find a load that will tie it up, loaded long, loaded short, wimpy loads, firewall loads, it digests everything without a burp.  Mine is the all-steel version, full-size, I can't comment on the compact or alloy guns.  I think I paid $350 for mine new, and all I've done since is replace the recoil spring once, buy more mags for it, and shoot it until it's hot enough to melt nylon holsters. 

I've owned a lot of handguns, this one was worth a lot more than I paid for it!

thanks all when i get situated i will have to go back and look at it some more and i also like that you can get caliber conversions for this gun to i will do some checking into them some more and go hold this one some.

 I have the compact plastic handle .45, I call it my cheap Glock, it is not a 1911 gold cup, but plenty good for personal defense, about 3" at 25 yards w/ fed hydro shock. The grip is a little big if you don't have big hands, they fit my big mitts good.
