I was thinking about advice along the lines of:
1. What barrel should be setup to be shot first?
2. Should the top barrel be regulated to shoot 1.5 inches high at 100 yards?
3. If the bottom barrel is regulated to shoot 1.5 inches high at 100 yards, will it have the same point of impact as the top barrel at 200 yards?
4. What bullet (heavier or lighter) would be better regulated in the top barrel?
5. Given the bottom barrel has the lighter trigger should it be regulated for 200 yards? If so how do I regulate it at a 100 yard range?
Thanks
Doug
Here's what i've learned about 412 DR's...
1. ALWAYS fire the bottom bbl first.. When your regulating and when your hunting!
2. I always regulated the double 06's for 100 yds, (start at a closer range, and then move the target to 100 for the final regulation) and then checked them at other ranges... For long shots, i always used the bottom bbl... If you want the gun to shoot 1-1/2" high at 100, then ajust the scope for that just like any other rifle!
3. I'm not understanding why you would do this in the first place?

4. Every double 06 i ever fired shot amazingly good, and were NOT picky about bullet weights.
5. Stop worrying about trigger weights, and get use to what you have. Regulate the bbl set at 100 yds, and try it at other ranges...
6. and i'll throw this in too.... If you hand load for a Valmet DR, test the loads for pressure in the top bbl., and any load that works in the top bbl for pressure, will for sure work in the bottom bbl...
