Loads posted in the manual. Prefer a patched round ball and Pyrodex.
Whitetail deer, Texas exotics, and some various varmints

I have use the 54 cal with 70 to 100 gr of pyrodex P equevilent behind the Maxi Hunter bullet with great results. You will find it will shoot the conical bullets better than the patched balls ( at least mine did). At 100 yards it would shoot with most rifles in accuracy and would get around 1200 to 1300 fps. Recoil is fearce, to say the least. It will and has taken some very large Hogs in the 200 to 400 lb range for me and Fla Deer with good results. I hope this helps you. I never could get mine to shoot patched ball or sabots well but it will shoot Maxi and maxi hunter bullets very well.
