"UNLOADER" for loading gate type lever-guns
« on: November 04, 2007, 04:37:03 AM »
My dad had an unloader with about a 4" snout that fit thru the loading gate, released the cartridges in the tube (magazine). The cartridges were caught in a soft bag on the other end of the "unloader".

This gadget disappeared from his stuff several years ago (before his death), and I was wondering if anyone knows if these are made today; or is this something that he made or someone made for him?

I'll have to do some checking. Seen one advertised somewhere, just can't remember where.

Here is a link to a thread on Beartooth which has a picture of the tool you are describing.
Further down is a copy of the patent drawing. We tried to build one from scrap materials and while it worked it was never fully satisfactory. The potential is there to build a good one if you are handy with tools and have a few materials.
