336 sight ???
« on: November 05, 2007, 04:57:45 PM »
Does anyone know if there is a adjustable windage rear sight available for a 336 that would fit the dovetail.
If not, maybe something for the top of the receiver.

Yes, the Williams Guide Open Sight (WGOS) can be had with a dovetail adaptor, beneath it's mounting screw.

The number for the FireSight dovetail rear is Item #62261 @ $19.95.
I don't know the Item # or cost for the non-FireSight rear, but you can call them.

Click & scroll down to "Dovetail Sets" - rear only is the third/last one.

Tim Skinner makes a great sight for the Marlin and it is very affordable and of the highest quality. I cant get a pick to post but here is a link.

The other thing you can do is just drift your rear sight in the dove tail for windage.

I love peep sights and even with my 60 year old eyes they work great at lever gun ranges. I got them on all of my lever guns and they can be used with the existing front sight! I got an extra new in the box. Let me know if you're interested.

Thanks guys, that was very helpful and I have a couple of new bookmarks in my files..I opted for the dovetail replacement for $19.95, if that does not work out, I will try the receiver mounts.
The gun is actually an old Revelation Western Auto model...It is a great little Marlin but really needs adjustable rear sight..This should be perfect...
