TC Black Diamond question

I have a Thompson Center Black Diamond .50 cal stainless barrel with composite stock. When I tighten the rear screw of the trigger guard it pushes up on the barrel and makes it loose in the the barrel bed (I'm familiar with a free floating barrel, this seems too loose to be free floating) I can actually move the barrel up, down, left, right, with slight pressure. If I back the screw out several turns it allows the barrel to fit snugly in the bed. I have not shot this rifle yet to know if it effects the accuracy or not. It just doesn't seem right. I have never experienced his phenomenon before. Any ideas or comments.

I have 2 Black Diamonds. ALWAYS tighten the front guard screw first and make it TIGHT. Then tighten the rear screw and only snug it up, but don't overtighten it. You will still be able to move the barrel around in the channel, but it doesn't effect accuracy. Both of my Black Diamonds shoot into less than 2" @ 100 yards with 2 Pyrodex pellets and a 250 grain T/C Shockwave. Hope this helps.

I have the same BD, and yes I have always been able to move the barrel around. I did what Mantihunter said about both screws.
Pain in the rump to clean them (hint-extension sockets), but very happy with the accuracy.

Yup they're  real pain to clean. I can clean my Grey Hawk faster!
