Custom Reticle
« on: November 07, 2007, 04:59:07 PM »
Is there a service anywhere that does custom reticles in your scope of choice. Can't find the scope and reticle combo that I like. Would like to get my 3200 5x15 a ballistic type reticle.

The closest I have found to what I want is the Nikon Mon. 5x20x44 with the BDC. I like the extra hash marks better than the circles, but can;t find the hash type in the power I want.

I just sent Lee a Weaver to put a custom reticle in. This will be the 2nd 1 he's done, and the 1st 1's very nice.

Will these dots hold up to the 300Rum recoil ? ( Rem. Sendero).

I don't know but the main x-hair axes are made of black widow spider silk, and is supposed to be the most impervious substance known to man...but it's very fine. Call Michael at the link above and talk to him.

Premier Reticles will custom etch a reticle into the first lens of a scope that is set for the ballistics of your particular rifle.  The cost is around $160 and their reticles work for long range big game shooting.  I don't think I would have this done on a lower end scope that you are talking about because of the cost but that's your business.

If you read the info at Premier Reticles, you'll find they aren't a likely option unless you're an S&B owner, a custom reticle costs $600.

Quick, you're right!  I talked to a guy at the range less than two weeks ago that had a ranging reticle put in a Leupold scope for $160+/- and he talked like it was fairly recently.  I saw on their website that they no longer work on Leupolds.  I guess that kind of puts this service out of reach for commoners such as myself.  I reckon if I get to where I can afford a S+B scope the special reticle won't make much difference to my finances, that'll be the day.
