I get 40-50 full power shoots on high with about 4 reduced power shots when the cartridge dies. Never shot at less power. Newer IZH has 40 (?) FPS more than the older model from what I read. Mine is a few years old & the 2300S hits a bit harder. The Williams sight is PERFECT. The 2300S is a bit hard to insert a pellet into the breech, but then, you don't have to pump it each shot. The izh has a better grip than the plastic on the 2300S, but the 2300 grip is more like a Colt woodsman or High Standard.
The 2300 trigger is terrible as shipped. The "adjustment" merely increases or decreases weight of pull and a trigger stop. The modifications are simple.
Remove the trigger (simple) & reduce the height of the sear about .010" at a time until you are satisfied with the way it breaks. Use a dial caliper to measure it. Then polish the engagement surface on a buffing wheel or something that will make it "glass-smooth".
Then! Replace the trigger return spring with the lightest one you can find (at your hardware store) that will reset the trigger each time you "cock" it. You might have to cut a couple coils off it. This trigger return spring is easily identified and installed. This is NOT brain surgery. I wound up with a very good trigger at the cost of about 45 minutes time and a buck for a spring. A very, very good trigger with NO surprises.
