Sticker on Ammo Box
« on: November 11, 2007, 12:14:12 PM »
Recently a friend in Germany send me 2 boxes of 20 each 257 Roberts
unprimed cases. The cardboard box has a sticker which I have never seen.

Besides empty brass in boxes of 20 in 257 Roberts +P I have not seen in ages.
Strange that thes are available in Germany.

Does any body know the significance of the sticker on the factory ammo box?

From the info I've found, it appears to be a Proof Mark, much like our UL listing, which indicated the product has been tested and certified.
Here's a picture of a German Luger with a box of ammo with the same marking.

I could be wrong....it has happened once.

You are right it is a proof mark the C in the circle stand for CIP.

Commission Interantionale Permanente Pour I'Epreuve des Armes a Feu
Portative.

Permanent Internatioal Commission for Firearms testing.

The sticker on the box indicates the cases are inspected and approved and save for use  in Europe. Apparently this is a Begium sticker?

I was not aware that reloading components are inspected that come from
overseas.

Well I am very happy I have European approval for my new cases which are
absolutely first class. Alas they are 0.005" to long in the Handy 257R.
