switching to leverevolution in 4570 , need advise on sighting in!

i am switching to the leverevolution ammo and need some advised on where to set my zero at, most shots will be around 100 yards. and i dont have alot of room to shoot when i sight it in, i was told to set zero at 25?

It would seem to me that if most of your shots would be at 100 yards. Then that should be the distance you should sight it in then. Dale

The short answer is what Dale said - sight it in at 100 yards. Sighting it in at 25 yards will get you into the ball park, but there are so many factors that come into play. How far is your scope mounted above the bore center line, what is the actual velocity out of your rifle, not advertised velocity. Those have a factor in your zero. I start out bore sighting mine. I mean I actually center the bore on a distant object in a solid rest and then adjust the scope to be centered on the same object. I then start shooting at 35 yards to zero, then 100 yards. Depending on the rifle, I may sight it in above zero at 100 yards for longer shots. Like you I can not easily shoot at 200 yards to proof it. The theory is that the bullet rises through the line of sight @ 25 yards and then drops back through the line of sight at 100 yards. But the factors already described determine this, it is only a estimate. You could end up 2" off at 100 yards or you could end up 6" off, you really will not know until you actually shoot that distance.

My thoughts would be to sight it in an inch or two high at 100 yards. In the field, for you "normal" shots, it will work fine, and if a chance should arise for a 200-250 yard shot it will make for less hold-over. I'd bet that would put it right on at 25 yards or so, in case a real close, precision shot should come up ( head/neck).
Best bet would be to sight it dead on at first for 100 yards, see what it does at 150, 200, & 250 yards. Then adjust it up an inch or two at 100, and compare it at 150, 200, & 250, and take your choice.
