TC Black Diamond and Shock Wave Bullets
« on: November 11, 2007, 04:26:53 PM »
Guys,
I sighted my Black Diamond in yesterday w/ some 250 grain Shock Wave bullets.  I was getting about 3" groups at 100 yards off of the tail gate off my truck.  I'd imagine if I would have had access to a good bench w/ a rest I could have turned out some respectable groups.  At the time I was short of a shooting range and had to make do with what I had.  All in all, I got better groups w/ these bullets that I have experienced w/ the Honady XTPs in 240 grain.  I think I'll stick w/ these in my Black Diamond until I can swing a Pro Hunter barrel.  I killed a buck last year w/ the XTPs.  He ran about 150 yards and had to enlist some local help to find him.  He was double lunged at a distance of about 40 yards.  Hopefully the Shock Wave bullets will do a little better.  Thanks.

I haven't used the 240 gr xtp's, i do use speer 240 jsp .429 using gn. sabot over 70 grs. of Pyro P.  So far of the 5 deer i have taken with it, longest run was about 60 yds. I know it will bloodshot the shoulders if hit that area. Not real thrilled about that, may go to abit heavier bullet. I ain't into HP's at all on my deer.
