What action work on hunting/back up revolver?
« on: November 12, 2007, 10:21:30 AM »
I'm considering an action job of some sort on my .44 Vaqueros, and am curious as to what you guys have had done to yours. I carry some heavy loads (cor-bon, buffalo bore) for bear back up and short range shots, and don't want to do anything that might limit the loads it can handle, but I'd really like to make all that "creep" go away and have a little lighter trigger pull. Any recommendations/success/horror stories you can share? Thanks....................

I would find a gunsmith to remove the creep from my action.  At this point, you can have the pull weight adjusted to your preference.  I'd advise against too light a trigger.

I'm letting Mag-na-Port do my Ruger. I've not felt the work of most of the name smiths and I'm sure they are great as well but the action job Kenny did on that Ruger I won last December at White Oak was the single best action I think I've felt on one. Thus just because it was a known commodity to me I went back to him for this one.
