Ultra 25-06 range report
« on: November 14, 2007, 11:29:36 AM »
Started out the range session with the Fusion 120gr but to no avail the Ultra did not like them too well. The best I could get at 100 yards was 1.5" to 2". After getting very frustrated, I went to the store and picked up some Hornady 117gr and they did a lot better. Under an 1.25". That's more like it. First shot out of a cold bore was 2 inches high, which is exactly where I want it. Not bad for a $250 rifle. I believe with handloads this rifle would be awesome. Now all I need is ol freak nasty to get in the way Saturday.
3 shot group 117 Hornady BTSP Interlock.

Looks almost identical to the groups I get with both the Hornady 117gr BTSP and Federal 115gr NP, except the first two are the ones that are together, and the third is the high one. ;D

That's the way my 25-06 used to shoot.
Third shot high and right every time.
