Mosin Brass
« on: November 15, 2007, 05:18:30 AM »
I am looking for some cases for reloading for my Finnish M39 and a M44 and can't find any around, even at gun shows.  Does anybody have a source for once-fired (boxer-primed) brass?  I can find plenty of mil-surp ammo, but it is not reloadable.

When I need new brass I've taken to buying boxes of Wolf Gold. I believe that it's just repackaged Prvi Partizan, and from my experience it's decent quality annealed brass. I get several loadings out of it if I'm careful and don't use maximum loads. I get the loaded ammo for about 55 cents per round, and haven't found the brass under .40 per, shipped. 15 cents isn't too bad for a bullet, primer, powder, and a little bit of labor.

1+ for the wolf gold line. Also Winchester "white box" has a load. I bought a couple of boxes once I found the brass on midway and what they wanted for it.

Wolf Gold and Winchester 54R ammo is privi made ammo - for some reason Winchester usually thinks theirs is worth more.
