the M16 dominates 600yds competition. do you propose your M1A will outshoot my AR15 , my 600 to your 1200yds??

you  challenged me with the provisal that my targets be 1/2 the distance of yours. i proposed a bet. you evaded. David Tubbs shoots 10x at 1000 yds with iron sights. so i guess you are not him.

you made the challenge. i picked 1000 yds for you, 5 shots. each. you evaded. i proposed 600/1200 again you evaded. "would be a stretch" well. the M16 cleans up at 600 with iron sigths

you assume alot !
I said i didn't wish to get into a p---g contest , you pushed . as i have a 600 yard range and no access to a 1200 yard range i haven't shot 1200 yards . on the 500 yard range i shoot a 44 mag redhawk and hit a 18 X 24 inch target consistntly . when shooting the XP-100 i could hold my own when i shot side by side with the rifle shooters at 500 yards  and they use scopes The M-1a groups rather nicely at 500 or 600 yards  . so to say i can't is not true to say i would like to do it before i claim what i can do is being honest ! WE shoot reduced size targets to get the sight picture but that is not the same IMHO !
and given the chance i have not had a problem hitting what i could see ! I did see a 1000 yard target , big ain't they !
And sorry don't know Mr. Tubbs but that sounds impressive !
I have passed the age where ego rules , i know from lifes experinces that if threatened i can defend myself and win . I offer to those that wish to hear what i believe works best for me and expect no less from others . Where i live the shot gun would be the first choice 85% of the time , the woods are that thick ! So if i take a rifle i want a big powerful slug to bust thru. like a shot gun slug or buck shot would up close and penitrate a barrier if the person shooting at me was behind one ! No disrespect to your choice but even on full auto ( and i have tried ) the 556 round is lacking in busting thru. Cover  Not a fault , to not over penitrate in other areas it can't .
If ya can see it ya can hit it !

i am just trying to figure out at what distance you can give me a 100% handicap in distance and outshoot me. since the M16 cleans up across the course through 600 yds it would have to be somewhere beyond that. i keep asking you to pick a yardage. you keep evading.

you have a 600 yd range. so i get mine at 300??

thank you Myron.

shoot, this is not debate: in stating my targets would be at  1/2 the distance of yours, you challenged me! I accepted. Since you set the

criteria, i set the range. you get 600 yds. I was willing to put up $1,000 and said it here publicly. You evaded. I would be willing to set a

match, witnessed by GB members. You with your M14 at 600 yds, me with my AR15 at 300. 10 shots, shooters choice of position. smallest

group wins. We could use either Ben Avery (formerly Black Canyon) or Rio Salado, each has a 600 yd range. With enough lead time, say one

year, I think a couple of GB members might like a little vacation in Phoenix to witness, or participate. Why waste a chance to shoot on a

600yd range.

Since you challenged me,and I am disabled, I think it fair that you travel here.

And when or where did you compliment me?

so what ? you don't like !!!!! Skip my post ! And i don't recall saying anything about anyone , my comment  was with regard to the weapon . If ya'll feel your choice is best then why all the drama ? Why do you feel it necessary to prove something ? If you are weak in your conviction why would i care ? Prove what ever you need to prove to yourself as I like my choice and will stick with it !
I didn't go back and read all but if I remember I said it was nice to debate with out getting offended or such  , of course I should have waited for more post on your part as you are new and had not shown true colors !
A mistake that I will not make again !
By the way if you are so sure of your weapon why not show it is equal not as good at 1/2 the distance ?
If ya can see it ya can hit it !

ah, now YOUR true colors come out. YOU proposed the 1:2 range! now you back track. (sigh)
but since the M`16 outshoots the M14 at ALL distances to 600yds, ok. but your true color has shown through: yellow

Lets see you made my statement about the gun personal , you proposed a match , you then played the handicap card then called me names . I continued to stick with conversation on the topic of GUNS .
The AR-15 will never be the equal of the M1-A It does not have the power PERIOD ! Its like a mini PU truck it can make the trip some of the time but it can't haul the same load ! A fact that has been proved many times ! I concede the M1-A is not for the small of stature , frail or weak as it is a powerful weapon . A concern when the switch was made no doubt .
As far as your personal attacks -
There is an old saying around here - if you wrestle with a pig you will get covered with mud , since i don't like being covered with mud ( Outside of waterfowl hunting ) I also will refrain from further debate with you !

pretty damn funny.  shootall, you must have read a different thread than the one i read, as your take on it bears no resemblance to the thread i read.   it is pathetic that she bows out, and THEN you have to take the last shot anyway.

Quote
I will set your targets for ya since they will be 1/2 the way to mine !
this is where you originally stuck yer foot in your mouth.

...small of stature , frail or weak ...

...a pig...
yet another example.  these are three examples.  do you need more?
incredible.  you really cant see how you have repeatedly demeaned this member?  if not, i am at a loss for words.

2 out of three was in response to their attacks , one of which is an old saying that points out that no one wins in a pizzing contest ! If anyone is calling someone a pig it is you sir ! Not I .You can read anything you wish into what i wrote but the fact remains that the power and size of the weapon has been a problem when issuing it to some allies and troops of small stature and strength not my assessment but others . If you think it refers to anyone in particular you are drawing conclusions on your own as i have no knowledge of any ones personal condition on this site !
The first one as you say about the foot in mouth was meant as humor ! Sorry I didn't know i was dealing with someone  apparently looking for a fight ! My mistake !
I was called yellow by the member , a personal attack to which they were not called down for a violation of rules , WHY ?
If you have a say in enforcing the rules then do so !
I find it amusing that she blows out makes personal attacks and i am not suppose to reply ! I hope your apparent attempt at chivalry pays off for you !
