Got a new CZ 550 American in .270 Win a couple of weeks ago. My first one, and so far, I love it, other than it being a little heavier than I would have preferred. But compared it with a friend's Model 70 Win Classic in same caliber and it's virtually identical, and the new CZ stock feels better to me.
The dealer had just gotten in a shipment of Americans with a new stock design, and I chose one of them. The new stock is a little slimmer and trimmer, sorta like the Ruger Hawkeye wood stock, and has different checkering panels sorta like the new Sako and Tikka wood stocks, and has a palm swell. I like the feel of it a lot. And the barrel channel inleting is much better than the older style American stock. The channel is very neat and perfectly symmetric down both sides of the barrel and is completely free floating, unlike some of the other older Americans, which had the stock touching the barrel on the right side (but can be easily relieved).
I mounted a new Nikon Monarch 2.5-10x42 on it, in the factory rings, and can't wait to get to the range and shoot it, but will have to wait till my new .270 Win dies get here. I'll try to post some pics of it, if I can figure out how to do it.
