Picked up a couple frames and signed for the Kel-tec PF9 today, had my dealer order a 7mmMag Handi for me from RSR, $290 with tax, gotta be one of the first to go on back order!!

Good on ya, if they still made ejector barrels I'd be in line with you too. The 7 Rem mag is one of my favorite calibers tho, so maybe............

I'm workin on Santa to get me a mini-mill for Christmas, if that happens, I'll be able to convert an extractor to an ejector and back again.

Acusport has the 7mm, 300 and 338 listed in their on-line catalog...along with .357 mag! Of course, none are in stock... I saw the .45 Colt Carbine listed long before any were at distributors.

It can't be any worse than my 7lb-4oz 338 Win Mag Tikka T3 Lite!!

Besides, I need to get my money's worth out of that Lead Sled DFT I bought this summer!!

Well, maybe I'll go for a .300WM, it might extend my effective range on out to 600 and 700 yards. I currently limit my 06 to 500 yards because of bullet performance. With higher velocity the same bullets would perform better at longer ranges.

As for recoil, could not be any more than my TCR with the .338WM barrel, or the Encore with the .416 Rigby barrel.

Tim are you wanting to have a shoulder replacement..... good lord man. Some of you must be made of steel I HATE recoil. Call me a sissy lol I think the 7mm was what shook me of recoil... OUCH!!! of course they didnt have Limbsavers at the time And then about 3 years agao I got to shoot one of those 1985 Marlin lever guns in a 45/70 ... can yall say BLOOD!!!! lol oh yea it bit me I couldnt help but laugh cause at first I thought i was ok until i felt somethng running down my nose. Thats what I cant figure out doesnt the handi on 45/70 lay you on the ground even with factory loads

I like the recoil...

I am going to get a 300win handi next year. Now that puts me for 2 300win mags next year, 2 308s and a 7mm rem mag encore barrel. Magnum Bug has visited. I think Ill get the new frame and get it fitted for a .308 and 7mm rem mag. Got my encore 300mag on order and getting a .308 next year for it too. And a 7mm mag for my encore also. I don't think ill be getting any other guns other than these next year

I'm not a stranger to recoil, I've been shooting the 375H&H Encore and hot loads in the 45-70 and 500 S&W Handis before I ever got the Lead Sled, it's just a matter of knowing how to set yourself up, you can do it wrong and it'll hurt ya, it does wear on ya after a bit at the bench, but shooting in the field at game I never feel recoil, even with my 835 Mossy shooting 70lbs of recoil with 2oz turkey loads, but it hurts me just patterning it from a standing position. But that's more than double the recoil of the magnum rifle calibers in 7mm and 300 mag, depending on the load in the 7mm, the 30-06 180gr has more recoil than the 7mm Mag.

If I am at the range all day just shooting hard kickers then Ill have on a shooting shirt and use the lead sled. It doesn't bother me as long as i keep it under 10 rounds. Yes my rem 870 sps mag hurts more but when I pattern it I try to get into the position I will hopefully be in while I am hunting if i am shooting off the bench Ill probably use my lead sled or my sand bags. I have hurt myself in my younger days when shooting a 10ga, I was close to a tree while hunting for turkey and the position I was in I had no control over the gun and I was about 3inches from the trunk.. As the gobbler came in he didn't allow me any room for error so I couldn't fix my position so i raised up and took the shot at 25 yards and I whacked my shoulder on the tree and good lord I got both gobblers in one shot their heads lined up. Back then you were lucky if you seen 2 but to kill 2 in one shot was something never heard of. That was around 25 years ago. I now sit in brush if I can find any in a leafy suit. But that is the only time recoil ever bothered me and I have never been hit with a scope so I hope to never start.
