Blue Book is pretty darn useless it seems now.  This is another perfect example of how off their values are.  Anyone that believes these are appropriate values for the #1 I'd love to buy some used #1's off from.  I look at every used #1 I came across and have NEVER seen one priced as low as these values indicate for thier given conditions.  I'd love to find #1's at 90% priced at $390!  Heck even a 75% one at $390 is a deal.

Please don't tell the local shops that the Blue book is worthless.
Last spring I purchased the top No.1 in the picture below from a large local owned shop with the Steel Weaver scope for a few dollars under $500 out the door

Values are highly variable. I recently took a 1B in 22 hornet to a local shop I've traded with many times as I was looking into a revolver they had taken in trade. The #1 was an older red butt pad model with pretty wood in 98% (their trader's rating not mine) with a flawless Leupold compact fixed 6x AO scope mounted.  They offered me $375  >:( needless to say I let them keep their revolver  ::)

I don't have a #1, yet. But, this thread jarred my memory. Sitting down? I vividly remember in 1985, like it was yesterday, a major wholesaler who handles Ruger, had a handful of #1s.......  as I recall, he had .220 Swifts, some .223s, and I am pretty certain .458s. I wanted a .223, and he had none so I passed....at less than $250 each. New in the box. In a shotgun news ad.  I feel.......incredibly.....dumb.
