Got my Carry weapon
« on: November 22, 2007, 01:33:41 PM »
I finally got my Kel-Tec PF-9  Tuesday it shoots real good no failures through a box of shells And surprisingly for a 3 inch barrel its shoots good groups. Fits in my pocket very well.

I did the paper work on mine yesterday, pick it up next week, looking forward to a range trip with it. It's been backordered for 2 months at TGS, but the price was right at $225. What ammo are you shooting? I picked up a box each of 115gr American Eagle and Rem UMC, $8 each.

I have a bunch of Winchester USA 115 gr ball. I picked up some Rem UMC 115 gr hp will try them tomorrow. And I gave exactly what you gave for yours. Mine shot just a tad low for my point of aim but the groups where in the 3 inch range at 10 yds plenty good enough for me  I was just shooting off hand not from and sort of rest.

Tim, I have a PF9 and P11.You are going to like the PF9  pistol. I use WW white box from WallyWorld the 115gr Personal defense  hollow point. Both of my pistols like CorBon 115gr as well.Go to Urban Survival Range and check out the ballistic tests done by Old Grandpa, especially the penetration and expansion of the CorBon.    Doug

The PF9 is a sweet little pistol.  Mine shoots to POA, and has been flawless for the year or so that I have owned it. I have shot a variety of ammo thru the thing, mostly my 125gr lead reloads. For carry, I had some Golden Sabers on hand.  I've put about 80 rounds of the GSs thru the pistol as well. This is my 6th Kel Tec. I still have 5 of them. As you might guess, they have worked well for me! The PF9 is a little big for my pockets, so when I pocket carry it's a P3AT. If you remember that the Kel Tecs are not range guns, and treat them accordingly, they will serve you well for years.

It's just layin in the bedroom waiting for a range trip, range is only open on Sunday, last week we had a terrible storm, this Sunday is my wife's only day off this week, so it ain't gonna happen then, maybe the next week. :-\

The bad, I disassembled it and cleaned it, it's dirtiest new firearm I've ever bought. :(

The good, it's a model G, made in October, has the latest "improvements". ;D

That sounds pretty normal from all the reading I've done at KTOG, they just work!!

Same story, won't be any range trips now until the range opens during the week in April.  :'(

Thanks for the update,

It's gone up since then, but it's still less than $329!! RR has them for a little less, but none in stock, TGS has some models in stock.

My card and letter of "congratulations" came last week.
Next days mail brought an invitation/dun to join the sheriff's 'good guys club' for another $25.

Wondering if I sent that extra in would make a difference in case something comes up I need to use them.

Any LEO's have input on this? I'd like to hear it from your end.

Thanks much, stay safe,
George
