I am looking for an AO scope to top my 10\22T. I intend to stay with my factory laminated stock but I have heard complaints that 40mm bells requiring taller rings may sit just a little to high for some people if they are not using a stock with a raised cheek piece as in my case. Can anyone testify one way or the other. I am assuming that this is not the case with with lower profile scopes with say... a 32mm or 28mm bell (although I have not seen a 28mm with an AO. The type of shooting I will be doing will be a casual variety ranging from paper targets at 25,50&100 yrds., to 3-1\2" tall "Red Cooper" juice cans( at 200yrds. if I find the rifle and myself capable. My budget is about $300 and I looking at 32mm AO 3x9s from Bushnell, Leupold, & Weaver(all rimfire variety but I can go CF as well). But if the eye & cheek level are ok, I am really looking hard at a Weaver Classic 42mm x 4-16x AO with a target dot for about $285. I am looking for versatility and not another over tuned 10\22T for miicroscopic competition. I'm leaning towards the Weaver 32mm 3x9 because I dont think I need 16x mag at 200yrds. even with such a small target (I could be wrong) but I really like the fine dot reticle of the Classic especially at that price.
