1st Hunt, 1st Shot, 1st Kill...
« on: November 23, 2007, 06:12:04 PM »
1st time this season to hunt for rabbits with my Buck mark Silhouette and pro-point scope. Didn't expect much as my sons young dog needed some exercise too. About 20 degrees outside, overcast and a trace of snow in the Colorado Rockies. Spotted one sitting about 20 yds. out and called the dog in. Braced on a rock and squeezed one off...  After unsuccessful elk hunts, its good to get out and get some game even with the dog obstacle.     Good Hunting!

Well done. I also love squirrel hunting with my Ruger .22 target pistol. Adds a bit more difficulty hunting with a handgun.

Nothing better than a cold day, a couple of beagles and a handgun to hunt with.  That's my idea of the perfect day ;D
A bad day of hunting is better than a good day at the golf course.

Nothing like hunting behind beagles, either with handgun or shotgun. But rabbits are a blast with or with out a dog.

Good shooting..

Excellent!!!

I swear, I'd rather hunt small game with a handgun than just about any other hunting there is. Congratulation!

Done a little rabbit hunting with a K22 and a Beagle. Very enjoyable.
Don't give up on that Beagle, their natural hunters. With a little time he'll bring those bunnies right back around and all you'll have to do is stand still when he hits trail and wait, the bunny will come back across his own trail(by instinct). Just give him time to figure out what you want him to do. He'll do the rest.
