375 bullet results
« on: November 26, 2007, 02:56:21 AM »
It's been a good while, but the mold you made for my 375 Winchester Handi was finally put to use this weekend.  I didn't hunt this year, but I lent my rifle out to a buddy this past weekend and he took a 120lb whitetail with it.  It was a quartering shot that took a rib on entering and exited just below the opposite shoulder.  The buck went about 30 yds before hitting a tree and going down for the count.  The load was your 250gr LFN at about 1950fps at the muzzle if you believe the load book, it wasn't chronoed.  My buddy said it was quite the whollop when it took the hit at about 60yds.  Nice bullet.  ;D

Thanks for the nice report!  I'd gamble the velocity was within 30 fps either way of the manual, judging from my experience with many calibers. I might add, though that my bet won't be for more than 10 cents because that's about how much difference even 75 fps up or down would make.
