M96 Stock
« on: December 13, 2002, 09:35:40 AM »
Howdy do BigBill:  was that a replacement military stock or a sporter?  And how much did it run you?  I have been told that sporter stocks for Yugo M48s are made from M96 sporter stocks with the barrel receiver area opened up just a bit to allow for the slightly longer Yugo.  I've been tinkering with the notion of restocking my Yugo or just scoping it and keeping the military look.

Hope all is well.  Mikey.

My M96 stock came today I got to peek at it and it looks awesome I can't wait to get my hands on it and refinish it and assemble the varmit gun and get on with my project gun.                     BigBill :D

I got the stock for christmas what a surprise!!
The swede stock fit the M1895 perfect the only thing you have to fit is the top hand guard the rear site slot has to be made about a 1/16" longer everything else fit the barreled reciever went right in.

Update my stock from numrich had to be refinished it was oil soaked as most military guns are I washed it with murphys wood soap and using fine sand paper got it down to bare wood, restained it, and now I'm using formby's tung oil on it, it looks great so far still orginal looking. Then I have to mount the scope, check bolt clearance, and site it in so far so goods. I have also found out that the M96 stock can be made to fit M38's with a little work too.                                       BigBill
