How to?
« on: June 21, 2003, 12:05:55 PM »
:D
Hello folks,
This is my first post, so hope it works.  Have shot a bull barrel .22 for 25 plus years, but just now getting into center-fire (didn't wanna rush into it!).
What's the best way to bore-sight a barrel -- take it off the frame and cradle in the bags, or leave it on the frame?  Am getting ready to shoot a 14" 6TCU.   Any magic potions out there?
  Thanks for the help.

I do it either way.  What I use is one of those little Black & Decker table top workmates things.  Has suction cups to hold it to the table top.  I just clamp the barrel in on the lug or sometimes just clamp the forearm in.  It works great and doesn't move while aligning the sights or scope with the bore on Contenders.
