Having trouble adjusting red dot scope on Horton Explorer

Hey guys were Having trouble adjusting the 22 mm red dot scope on a Horton Explorer 150 .The bow belongs to a friend whos from Montana.We have read the manual and followed it exactly (of which i do well so that should not the problem) and the cb is still shooting 12 inches low at 10 yards. No problem with the windage just the elevation. Why does the manual say to shoot the bow with target at 20 yards and the hortons dial a range set at 0/ 1/ 2 then to see which setting shoots closest to the point of aim? This does not make since because settings 1 and 2 should shoot higher than zero setting therefore farther away from point of aim.We have not shot it in setting 1 or 2 since the setting of 0 shot over the target at 20 yards and setting 1 or 2 would go even higher... Am i correct on this or is the arrrow trajectory different from what i am asuming.  We are fairly new to archery so are we not understanding arrow trajectory hence the 0/1/2 settings in the manual. Any explanation of arrow trajectory in this circumstance will be appreciated. Thanks.

First of all that dial is ONLY for a peepsight rear and Pin front sight combination. For a scope or red dot you leave the dial set at zero and then adjust your dot to hit at 20 yards. If it is a stacked 3 dot use the middle dot at 30 to sight it in then the top dot should be close to on at 20 and the bottom at 40. However that is only what they suggest it could be off some so you may have to set it a bit different it all depends on what your speed is compared to the settings. You may be on at 20 and 30 and a bit low at 40 if the bow is not fast enough since the red dot if a stacked one may be for a faster xbow that is the problem I had I switched to a Scope made for my xbow. Excaliber makes a nice scope that has a speed ring so you can adjust the scope to the speed of your bow/ arrow combination. Myself I like a scope better for the magnification and the speed ring excaliber set up makes it easy to sight in for your particular bow. You may get the dot sighted in though if you leave the dial alone and just use the red dot adjustments.
