Horton Crossbow Rope Cocker
« on: November 27, 2007, 10:03:11 AM »
If there is anyone still pulling their x bowstrings by hand you can make the task much much easier with the horton xbow rope cocker. It is not a gimmick...it really works. It said that it reduces pull weight by 50%. I have used it on a 150 pound x bow which means 75 pounds(half of 150) but to me it feels like only pulling about 45 or 50 pounds since it has easy to hold handles. Theres a plastic block that comes with the cocker that goes behind the rear sight block and the rope is connected to the string with hooks and loops around the plastic block forming a pulley system making cocking easier.

Yes they do help and they keep things in line better too.
Said I never had much use for one, never said I didn't know how to use it.

They do work. No way I could pull my 150 and 200 lb draw weight bows without one. More importantly, they greatly improve accuracy by centering the serving uniformly each time the bow is cocked .

only trouble i have come across with my Horton crossbow with the pull cord is the safety moving from fire to safe before the string in lock in.
