Data needed....357RemMaximum
« on: November 27, 2007, 02:42:32 PM »
Was wanting to know if anyone has had any experience with this projectile?
http://www.beartoothbullets.com/bulletselect/index.htm?category=17&id=
Scroll down to the 210gr LFN +P with gas check.

Data would be most helpful if barrel lenght/powder type/barrel type(factory/other) were mentioned.  Did any load not work?  Was stabilization a problem at lower velocities in a factory barrel?

Willing to give them a try, but if the projectile has been put through the ringer already.....

I have not used that specific bullet from Beartooth but I have used their 185 FN HC with a gas check in my max. Excellent bullet too. Just from that experience I would say you will have problems with OAL. Even the 185 gr. required I have the cases trimmed to minimum and seat the bullet completely to the cannelure. A longer bullet would take up a lot of powder space and possibly not allowed the rounds to chamber in my gun.   I would call/email Marshall and ask about 210 gr. bullets. My .357 max was a 1-14 twist carbine from VVCG and I never shot anything heavier than a jacketed 200 gr. RN Sierra.

I have a box on order right now (along with a couple other sizes). Plan on loading them for my .357MAX Handi as soon as they get here. I will let you know how they work.

Doing the final testing on some 225g and 250g Jacketed loads for the .357 Max.

I'd use from 19-22g AA1680 for the 210g lead bullet.
