I can't thank everyone enough for the input I got on my 'Contender or Encore' post. Now that I have settled on a Contender I would like to hear your thoughts on one more dilemma: Blue or Stainless and why?
Thanks....

I like stainless since I don't have to worry about it so much in inclement weather.

I have both SS and blued barrels. Currently have a SS .223 barrel on a blued frame, with walnut stock. Looks good, and while I normally prefer the look of blued, easy care stainless is growing on me, and looks really nice with a walnut stock.

I WENT WITH A STAINLESS ENCORE I LIKE THE FACT I CAN BRING IT HOME AFTER I HAVE BEEN IN THE RAIN HUNTING (YES YOU ARE RIGHT GAVINATOR IT ALWAYS RAINS DURING DEER SEASON ) TAKE A PLASTIC OR STEEL CLEANING BRUSH OVER THE FRAME AND THEN RUB IT DOWN WITH SOME OIL AND WALA I AM DONE . I SLING MINE SO I USUALLY DONT HAVE NOTHING IN THE BORE UNLESS I HAVE SHOT THE GUN. GET SICK AND GET TWO WE ALL HAVE IT IT IS UNCURABLE , BUT YET SO INVIGORATIING AND ENTERTAINING AND HEALTHY AND A CLEAN SPORT.
