Anyone planning to hunt with their Henry Rifle?

Well anyone? I am taking my golden boy as soon as deer seasons out and fill my limit on rabbit and squirrel.

Yup, thats why I bought it. I have alot of 22s but none dedicated to squirrel hunting. A few antiques, some pistols and a couple match guns but my scoped H001 is my hunting rig.

Mine got dry fired and now it has problems ejecting spent shells. There is a burr on it and i am going to polish it out. Then i get to hunt with it. I have decided against a scope on it and I am getting a metal site

I put a scope on mine because I dont have the best eyesight in the world. I wanted to see how accurate them little rifles are too. Its easier for me to shoot a squirrel in the eye with a scope than iron sights.

Oops I was thinking of .22 WMR. I would try CCI out and American Eagle also.

Ohhh. Im gonna try the bulk Federal hallow points since theyve been good in my guns in the past. I trust Federal a little more then Remingotn ammo. You can make some pretty nasty looking bullets out of the remingtons using a Paco Kelly Accuriser tool

Huh. I have used Federals and I never did like how they shot. In my single shot the brass would get stuck and the rem never did. I have tried many thing in that Rem Model 6 Improved and it likes rem ammo so that's all I use in it. My auto loaders like CCI.

Took 11 squirrels today. And 2 rabbits. I cleaned em and put them in the freezer until I can get about another 11 so I can make a big thing is stew. Might go again tomorrow. I got my front site into today also and I am putting it on tonight and shooting it tomorrow. ;D
