My first Blackhawk

I finally got my first Ruger single action, a 1994 NM Blackhawk  357.
It has a few scratches and dings but timing is OK and the trigger-pull is great (someone must have fixed it).
Now I understand why there is an aftermarket for Ruger base-pins. I´ll probably get a BM base-pin for it.

Here in northern Sweden we have snow now, it gets dark early on the afternoon and the temperature is around -17 Celsius/ 1 degree Fahrenheit so my first test-shooting of it was just for fun.
I did however manage to group the shots at 3" one-handed at 25meters, OK under the circumstances...
This weekend I´ll try some more serious test-shooting in the day-time, wearing warmer clothes and bringing along my hand-warmers.

In the summer this gun will see a lot of target-competitions both with 38sp and 357mag, so during this long winter I´ll be out in the snow and cold shooting the snot out of it.


O, and sometimes I really like to annoy people, that's why I got these grips for it.

No, in general we are only allowed to own handguns for target-shooting, with a few exceptions like a 22lr for small game.

I like what you did with the Buscadero rig in using the holster slot as a stabilizer.  I'm going to try that with mine and see if it works well.  Having to tie the holster to my leg to draw is a pain.

It´s not so hard to get American guns in Sweden, S&W 686´s are very popular here, Ruger revolvers  are common in our national magnum-field-target competitions.

Nice gun.
I got a Super Blackhawk in 44 and it's great.
It's nice hearing from people outside the USA to see the differnce between their laws and ours.
If you don't mind me asking-what kind of price did you have to pay for it?(A used 357 Blackhawk in good condition goes for around $300 in American around here.
And what is your laws concerning guns when it comes to what kind and any registration laws to put up with?
I heard at one time every able bodied male HAD to have a gun chambered for the Goverment service round.
 
BTW- In WWII my dad was shot up pretty bad and ended up crash landing in Sweden,
Him and the whole crew had to sit out the last year of the war in your country.
He loved your country, and talked about going back some day.

I think you are confusing Sweden with Switzerland. Not the same place.
