Battery life:red dot scope?

I have an Aimpoint Red dot scope on my contender. This is it's first season hunting. Can I leave it on all day without it dyeing? I only turned it on for the first & last half hour of daylight and when i was moving.I guess I could just turn it on and wait and see, but that seems like such a waste.

Just leave it on all day. My first one went 7 seasons before I replaced it and it wasn't dead.

Thanks,good to know . I had an extra battery with me but I didn't want to find out the hard way.
