I know the forum is about the revolvers but I have a leather question. I am not your typical single action shooter. I bought a No. 3 Schofield copy in .45 Colt to slow me down in a steel shoot my club puts on and let others win. The gun will use the #25 HKS speed loaders so I can keep up with the guys shooting the autos. But here is my question.
Does anyone make a leather hip holster for this gun? All the cowboy holsters I have tried so far ride too high on the frame and unlatch the barrel when I draw. The draw looks like Barney Fife with the barrel slowly falling and the shell ejector raising the cartridges out of the chambers. I need all 6 rounds for the shoot and can not set the hammer down on an empty chamber.
Right now I am using a holster for a S&W model 29 with a thumb break but it just doesn't look right.
