For a mild load you might try 8 gr. of Unique under a 250 gr. Keith-style SWC that is sized correctly for the throats. Should give close to 1000 fps in a tight gapped gun like that. To step it up a notch, a starting load of HS6 or 2400 has always worked well for me. For full throttle stuff 296 or 2400 get the nod. I can't help with factory loads.

Highwayman, In  my F/A model 83 44 mag I shoot Winchester 250 gr Platinum Tip (s44pthp).  With this factory load my F/A shoots three inch groups at 110 yards. Rod in Pa.

24 grains H110 240 XTP under 3" at 100 yards for a full cylinder resting my forearms on the bench without the gun touching anything.  Enjoy.

Forgot to say originally...this is with a 7.5" M83 with a 2x Leupold scope
Be honest with yourself.  Can you guarantee you would hit a paper plate at 250 yards...100 yards...50 yards?  Then you have no business replacing the plate with a live animal.
