care to expand on that?   or are you just beaming with happiness?   how does it compare to the old contenders, in your opinion?   i figure i will stick with my old models until someone convinces me that the g-2 is better.

I did a deal today on just the frame . It had a 12" 45-410 on it and i did not need it . The feel is great , the trigger is what i expected , nothing great ! The ser.# i could not refuse 1500 ! Don't know if i am going to shoot it or put it away . What do you think ? I have bought and sold allot of contenders and this rates better than i thought it would be !!!!!!!!!!!

i only have one gun that i dont shoot often; the rest are shooters.  that one is a browning auto 5 16 gauge in mint condition that my grandpa won in a poker game.   has had less than a box of shells fired through it.   so my point is that i probably am the wrong person to ask on that one.

Anybody have a technical spec breakdown of the differences between the old Contender and the G2? I've heard it referred to as a mini-Encore - does that imply ability to handle more pressure - i.e. will we see bigger calibers than before? What value does the G2 add to the world of T/C shooting, besides an opportunity for new shooters to get in on the game (seeings how all the old frames tend to have happy owners   )

Mainer: when you say the trigger was nothing special, I read that it tends more towards the Encore as opposed to the Contender which seems to be regarded as excellent (while the Encore is only Very Good). Am I reading you right?

Congratulations on the low serial number. Personally, I'd shoot the heck outta that thing! No sense owning a gun you can't shoot! Unless you can get another one with a lower serial number ...
