Fusion 7-08 140 grain ammo?
« on: December 02, 2007, 02:40:11 PM »
I was at Cabela's today and found these on sale plus you get an extra $5 back, very reasonable by todays standards.  Has anyone tried these out of a 15" Encore?  Were they any good?  If they have worked well for others, I might buy more since they are reasonable.  My gun is on order so I cannot try them out myself for awhile.

Howdy,

These 140 fusions are what I've settled on out of my 15" Encore.  They are
pretty accurate for me, and I like the price.

I've taken one one deer so far, a medium sized doe, at about 75 yards.  The shot was
quartering toward me.  The bullet expanded a bit more than I would have liked but
did completely pass through.  I hit a shoulder bone on the entrance, so it's a little
hard to fault the bullet.  I'm pretty comfortable with them on deer, and elk if you
pick your shots.  I'd rather a Nosler Partition for elk or bear, but again the price is good.

Here's the number chart from Fusion(Federal).  Just have to dig through it to find the numbers you want, don't have time to edit out the other information.
