New/old rifle model 94 30/30
« on: December 03, 2007, 03:35:33 PM »
I just got a 30/30 winchester model 94.  Is there a place I can look the serial # to see when it was built?

Try this site.
http://ca.geocities.com/winchesterguns/serial94.html

It should give you an idea of when it was made.  Since Winchester went dropped the lever 94, that is a very good buy.

Thanks for the link.  I added it to our sticky at the top of the forum.  I also found out that the link I had up there for Winchester lookups is currently not working.

$130 is quite a deal for a working Model 94.  I did see on Sunday that gun show prices have moderated with lots of 94s in several calibers available in the $300 range.  I seriously thought of buying an Angle Eject in .45 Colt but didn't.  Had it been for $130 I would have in a heartbeat!

Serial numbers higher than 2,700,000 was made after 1964. anything lower was made pre 1964. If you want, PM me the first  4 digits and I can tell you want year it was made
