Which Talley bases for a model 70 375h&h ?
« on: December 05, 2007, 09:01:54 PM »
OK guys and gals, any of you really familiar with the Winchester M70 rifles?
I want to put a set of Talley QD rings on that new Winchester Safari Express .375 H&H I just bought recently. I went to the Talley website to see what they have and man am I confused. Which bases do I need for this rifle?
I'm a bit confused...

I'm obviously more interested in the thread size - regular or 8x40

Anyone know 100% for sure?

thanks

Do yourself a favor and get the brockman pop up peep bases, they are a talley base with a pop up peep on the back of them.  I have them on my M70 classic 375 and 458 lott rifles.  Excellent setup.

You would need the regular bases not 8-40.  And the Ex bases would give a little more leeway in scope positioning.  Check out the pop up peep, its perfect for a m70 375 H&H.

Never heard of it.
I just found their website though and it looks like a great concept.

Do you use the winchester front sight or the brockman???

Thanks, I'll take a look at that.
