Although I too would want the rifle in original condition that's a real fine engraving job.

I like it as well. Lazer engraving of wood is getting more and more popular. Weatherby has been offering it for several years now on their Mark V DeLuxe, and it's selling well. At a higher price I might add. Not everyone likes, "Plain Jane".   Bill T.

I don't normally go for this sorta thing, but I kinda like it.  I wouldn't want to pay extra for it.  If fact I'd expect a discount.

I guess I am the "odd man out" on this one, I would be willing to pay more for it in the original condition. I personally think he ruined a fine gun....<><....:)

See if Marlin would sell you a replacement stock.  But for $900.  I could find a cowboy in 45-70 and still have lost left over for ammo.

All the "laser engraving " i have seen even on the weatherby look cheap to me.MO
looks like i don't have the money for a real engraving job.
I can't believe i could ever warm up to this gun, after it being butchered, other
than maybe a truck gun (back of cab).
