Early Ice=Huge Walleyes
« on: December 08, 2007, 02:21:40 AM »
Went out on the thin ice Thursday, two buddies and my self, I caught a 27" and they caught two 25" and two 24" walleyes. This pattern has been repeated three times this week. All fish caught between 6 and 10 pm, 15-20 feet of water and 2 inches of ice. A total of three 27 inchers have been caught! Torn between ice fishin and deer hunting..

I have been poking some holes in the ice over the last few days.  Although it isn't "early" ice anymore I had a blast.  I didn't catch any big ones but sure has some good walleye action (a couple dandy perch too).  I could hardly  keep all 3 tip ups going.  I was just using Fat Heads in 12-15 ft, about a foot of the bottom.
