Pistol slings, holsters and shooting gloves?
« on: December 09, 2007, 05:46:01 AM »
Was thinking of trying a handgun sling system for "resistance pressure" shooting to steady off-hand shots.  I see the "just sling it" that Stratton offers, any suggestions or recommendations of others?  Do you prefer one of those or a holster?  If a holster, what do you like for a scoped 15" Encore?  Last question which shooting glove do you prefer?  I see Past and Uncle Mikes any preference or other recommendations?  Thanks to everyone on here for there help in getting me started.

I like slings much better than holsters for my Contender/Encore, and I've tried about every type holster there is, I think.  And, far and away, my favorite sling is the "just sling it".  It really helps steady my stance.  I carry a Stoney Point Monopod shooting stick/walking stick, and the two work together really well.  GOOD SHOOTIN', Walt

No slings here.  I prefer a bandoleer for my Encore.  I got mine from Quiet Hide.

Dave does real good work at a fair price.  He can make them out of leather or some fabric he has.  Anyway they don't have that drum sound you usually get from nylon and they fit like a glove.  There's a picture included for you to see as well.

Hopalong7(Walt), Take the short piece that Stony Point makes for their tripod(to support the butt of a rifle) and mount it on your monopod. Makes the best adjustable rest I've found yet. $25.00 at Cabelas(not in the catalog though).   Pat
