It was a Norwich NY manufactured gun, When Bob Serva bought the Dan Wesson company he retooled the shop with all new CNC machines and the first guns he produced were marked first issue. I do not know how many of each were marked this way. The Norwich guns are some of the finest made by Dan Wesson. The first revolvers were shipped in December of 1997 after months of very hard work.
In the early summer of 1996, a group of close friends and Bob Serva rented fleet trucks and proceeded to Palmer, MA to sort through and move all of the items from Wesson Firearms Co. to upstate New York. After getting settled in, they started to go through the old tooling and realized that if we were going to make a product that would measure up to the standards Dan Wesson himself would have expected, we were not going to be able to do it with most of the tired old tooling. We would have to build new. It was time for a superbly designed firearm to have a new birth.
Bob Serva owned the company 1997 to 2005
I hope this helps.
