Remington model 700xcr first deer
« on: December 09, 2007, 05:08:22 PM »
:) Remington model 700xcr 270wsm with the Burris Euro-Diamond 2.5x10x44mm. Scope has the Ballistic Plex reticle. Ammo used was factory 150gr. Winchester Power Points.  Took its first deer today. A big mule deer doe. The shot was a lasered 300yds.  Set the 300yd. Ballistic Plex mark behind the front shoulder and touched the trigger. Gun went off and heard the good sound of a whop. She staggered 30yds. and fell. Did a double lung shot. a complete pass through. Exit hole was about the size of a quarter. I am very happy with this combo.

Congrats!

My XCR also made it's first kill this year, whitetail doe.  Shot was about 50+ yards.  The .338 RUM Ballistic Tip did it's job extremely well.  Even though the size of the exit wound was incredible it still did not do as much damage as my 30.06 usually does.

The deer still ran 50 yards (at me) after being hit, spraying blood everywhere (I followed the trailer the next day).

I love this rifle so much I was thinking of getting another in a lighter caliber.
Remington 7600 - 30.06Sprg, currently topless.
Remington 700XCR - .338RUM, Burris Fullfield II 3-9x/40, Burris Dovetail rings and base mounts.

SigPro 2022 - .40S&W
Glock 26 O.D.
