Blackhawk ejector rod problems

I just bought a LN New Model .357 6" SS Blackhawk and shot it for the first time today. After about the fourth load of shooting which was all shot at a leisurely pace of target shooting the cylinder was warm to the touch and the ejector pin was starting to hit  the cylinder metal face just on the edge of the cylinder wall. Before shooting it was fine although the pin was mighty close to the inner side ot the cylinder hole wall when it went into the cylinder hole.  Has the metal expanded that much when firing? Is this normal? I noticed the cylinder holes were getting bigger because the cases were starting to partially slide out with the barrel up. I hade to wait about 5-10 minutes for things to cool down before the ejector pin would slide in. This happened while shooting .357  158 gr loads. Does it need to go back to Ruger? Thanks

The ejector housing attaches to the side of the barrel. Check to see that the barrel hasn't turned slightly causing the missalignment your describing. I don't know for sure, just guessing here. I have had pistols in the past that the barrel turned under heavy recoil. Never in a 357 but in a couple of 44mags. Also check the ejector housing to see if it's come loose, I've blown these off a time or two also.  KN
