Anything New Coming for 2008
« on: December 11, 2007, 04:12:42 AM »
Has anybody heard what new stuff Ruger might have in the works for the coming SHOT Show and 2008? I hope they come out with an SR-9 in .45 (SR-45?). I also wouldn't mind seeing a 5.5" Bisley available as a standard item.

The Bearcat 50th Anniversary Model.

The new 2008 5oth Anniv Bearcat wil have plain cocobolo grips, a gold colored trigger guard, gold rollmarking on the top of the barrel that reads: 50th anniversary BEARCAT-2008, gold rings on both ends of the cylinder, and gold inlayed Ruger Bearcat on the cylinder.
It will also come in a gun rug, inside an anniversary cardboard box with a Bearcat history book.

There's also the just announced Cougar pistol based on the 10/22.  Told these will start shipping quite soon.   see a review of this one at GunBlast.

As for the #1's going bye-bye...I don't think we'll see Bill's pride & joy disappear completely but slow movers will be dropped and other chamberings will be added (.375 Ruger and it's knock-offs)

If the 5-shot .480 (or .454 Casull ) were a Super Blackhawk,  I'd be pre-ordering right now - but they can keep the Redhawk, Thanks.

The new Ruger pistol based on the 10/22 is pretty cool looking. Laminated stock, short bull barrel, and comes with a Harris style bipod and soft case.
Oh yeah, it's called the Charger not the Cougar, but there is a good review on Gunblast and it's up on Ruger's website.

A read of the Ruger website reveals that all the 26" barreled #1-S rifles are history.  :(

This may be a dumb question but why doesn't Ruger announce some of there special guns like the 450/400 ne.  I have since ordered one but why don't they catalog them and how many others are like this??
